More details...

The school has seven school buildings, where 150 teachers and about 30 staff employers work. The territory of Martinsicuro borders with two regions,Marche and Abruzzo and from a demographic point of view there is a continuous flow of migration. This phenomenon, which has been occurring for some years now, has strongly influenced the social and cultural context of the city.
In this scenario our school must give a concrete answer to the needs of inclusion and aggregation, to reduce discomfort and youth deviance. There are a lot of students with special educational needs and disabilities, who work and study in regular classes as we believe that inclusion is the best way for a harmonious development of every child. Our school has a long experience with projects about inclusion, intercultural projects, P.E., language proficiency, technology,
citizenship education, art.
Our Institute has long been known locally for its welcoming, friendly atmosphere and its happy, caring and stimulating learning environment.
The presence in our school of many foreign students represents an important opportunity to encourage tolerance and solidarity among adults and children through experiences that lead to comparison and interaction between different people, aiming at equal opportunities for all individuals. Teachers, therefore, work with transversal activities to establish dynamic relationships
between cultures. It is the school’s aim that each child reaches his/her full potential academically but also personally, socially, emotionally and physically in preparation to become responsible citizens of the future. A variety of extra-curricular activities are offered to pupils, the school receives extra funding from the Department of Education to extend its program outside normal school hours. The school is already active in its territory in some environment protection projects. In this project the students will get in contact with new solutions and practices from partner students and teachers and will also share theirs, the final aim is changing everyone attitude to climate change, in a multicultural situation. Moreover, the whole municipality will benefit of an improved
awareness. Taking care of a common problem can help the community to be more united and collaborative, beyond cultural differences. We are glad to take part in this project!
