Scoala Gimnaziala nr. 19 Avram Iancu

Secondary School no. 19 Avram Iancu has a long tradition among educational institutions from the city of Timisoara (the third
largest city in the country). It is a unit that gathers over 1250 students (between 6 and 15 years old) and 87 teachers. The
school's principles are intended to encourage the development of children's autonomous thinking so that they can assume their
responsibilities, creatively express their ideas and collaborate.

More details...

The school benefits from an ergonomic and easy-to-use workspace where it can work in optimal conditions, which is fully reflected in the results of student exams (with 100% success last year) and also at various contests. The school is very interested in working with other European schools to encourage openness to cultural and linguistic diversity; thus, it is involved in several projects, for example an Erasmus + project, a crossborder project with Serbia and several eTwinning projects. These projects aim to awaken students' curiosity in order to develop their creativity and be stimulated by the manifestation of sensitivity, the creation of bridges between school and life, as well as links with other children of the same age.

Our team, consisting of experienced teachers and open to current approaches, is very stable and motivated. This project is an opportunity to create interdisciplinary dialogues, to develop very diverse skills, to train abilities and to stimulate the interest for learning in different contexts. The teachers and students are interested and will be very involved in enriching their own learning experience using various resources around them. Climate change is a global problem and United Nations and European Union have taken many precautions. As Romania, a European country, we want to show our role as educative institutions and stimulate our students that they are the future citizens and need to take active roles for fighting against climate change. We would like to share experiences and good teaching practices to stop or minimize the causes and effects of climate change in a strong strategic European partnership. We are sharing the responsibility to build a better sustainable future for each child and person in this world.
